Welcome Back!!!
Dear Parents & Students,
I am so glad to welcome you back for another educational school year. I am thrilled to meet our new 6th grade class as well as welcome back all the returning middle and high school students. I am looking forward to a happy and productive school year. I realize there are going to be many challenges and triumphs as we work through this year. Working together is going to be especially important for success and peace of mind.
Here is a basic rundown for the first few days of classes:
Day 1: All grades will be reviewing classroom procedures & expectations and classroom rules. Students will read and sign acknowledging their understanding and the form will go home for a parent or guardian to sign and return. Only the Student Contract (last page) needs to be returned for my files. Students should keep the rest in their ELA binder/folder. Middle school students will receive their text books.
Day 2: Grammar Diagnostics test and Part I -introduction for the “How-to” for journal keeping (creating the template). High School students will receive their first spelling/vocab list with instructions due Friday.
Day 3: Star Reading diagnostic and Part II-Introduction for the “How-to” for journal keeping (creating the template.) Middle School students will be receiving their 1st spelling packet due Friday. AR reading requirements and Overdrive will also be discussed.
It will take us a few days to get into the groove of things and some of our plans may shift around depending on the class. If you have questions, want to discuss your student's progress please feel free to contact me anytime!!!! Email: sdonahoe@cdlex.org or by calling the office @ 606-374-7040.
Once again, welcome back to Holy Family.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Z. Donahoe
