Verbs-
Verbs can tell you whether an event is occurring in the past, present or future. They tell time. Some verbs express action. Other verbs link between two parts of the sentence. Still others, point out that something exists.
Action Verbs: Tells what action a person or thing is performing.
Visible and Mental Action:
Visible- actions that can be seen such as a bird flying or duck swimming.
Mental- can be seen only with difficulty, if at all such as remembering, dreaming, or worrying.
Write the following sentences and underline the action verb in each. At the end of sentence label visible or mental.
1. The Concorde flies quickly across the Atlantic.
2. For many weeks Columbus and his crew worried about reaching land.
3. The receiver barely caught the ball.
4. He remembers many events from World War II.
5. Weeds suddenly sprouted all over our front lawn.
6. Lydia considered warmth and exercise to be the best therapy.
7.Ruth believed in justice and freedom for all.
