The students were given a journal prompt and encouraged to write their continued thoughts. Our unit's theme: "Who I am, Who I Want to Be." The prompt below was a quote from Martin Luther King, Jr.. The rest.... all Daniel. Enjoy.
Journal Prompt: "The time is always right to do what is right." - MLK, Jr.
There is always a time to help the poor by giving them money, cans of food, coats, tshirts, pants, and hats. There is always time to share, help, and give. There is always a time to give joy, happiness, kindness, care, loving and forgiveness. There is always a time to do good deeds like give to the poor, share kindness, and love everybody. There is always a time to do good things when people think you're weird or stupid. But it is the right thing to do. It is hard to do what is right even when people encourage you, because some people don't encourage you. It is like when our school asks kids to bring the food and all of us bring the food. It is easy then to do what is right when everybody chooses to do the right thing.
