Adverbs __words such as carefully, often, seldom, finally, never, very, and soon--play an important part in sentences. Adverbs are modifiers. Adjectives can only modify Nouns & Pronouns but ADVERBS can modify : VERBS, ADJECTIVES & other ADVERBS.
RULE TO REMEMBER: An adverb modifies a verb, an adjective, or other adverb.
Most adverbs generally modify verbs.

An adverb that modifies a verb will answer one of these four questions:
