LINKING VERBS
A linking verb connects a noun or pronoun at or near the sentence beginning of a sentence with a word at or near the end of the sentence. Example: The winners of the race were Julia and Victor. She looks tired. He is an archaeologist. The linking verbs is, were, and looks act almost as equal signs between the words they link.
