Kiddos, sorry for the delay!! I am ok... Thank you to those trying to reach me. I have had extreme technical issues with the internet service and phone.(Had to get another new phone too... with a temporary new #.) My old number is temporarily out of service. Trying to get my old number put on the new phone. The pandemic has caused delays and extensive time trying to get this issue resolved. It's still not completely. Anyway, for the time being you will have to submit your work solely through email. [email protected] I apologize as this has been frustrating, I know, for all of us. As of today, I can get into my email and will try to address those as I can. My connectivity is intermittent.
SO here we go:
During this pandemic life has changed drastically for everyone. We are limited in what we can do, whom we can have contact with, and where we can go. This restrictive lifestyle has affected our daily lives. Think for a moment about how this has affected yours. (how have your interactions with your family changed, need for personal space changed, activities, communication with your friends and family, your feeling about freedom? Are you finding ways to bring joy, calm, humor into your lives? How has social media changed, helped or hindered?)
Journal Prompt: Write an in-depth journal entry for your future self or someone else, knowing it will be read 5, 10 or 20 years from now and explain how the pandemic changed life as you once knew it.
(If stuck ideas: Pros/Cons family dynamic, activities, school, friends, practicing your faith, schedule, grocery shopping, hobbies, games, social distancing, social media etc. ....)
April 17th Friday
AR - You should be able to test on your first and possibly second novel by now. IF not, get on it. Access has been opened up for you to do this at home. Refer to the accessible page above.
TikTok/Video assignment - Due Monday wanted you to have something fun and special. IF you do not have TikTok or do not want it that's ok... just make a short video ( no more than a 1-2 minutes long). Social media has taken on new meaning during this time of isolation and quarantine. People are using it to keep in contact with their friends and family. They are using it as a platform for education, work, political, and information discourse. However, they are also using it to express humor, fun, and just a way to show daily life. This means you can demonstrate a new dance (keep it clean), recipe, a tutorial of some sort,a family activity, or a skit. Get creative. TWIST: at least one family member must be involved in the filming with you. Enjoy and most of all have fun.
* HOPEFULLY -should have everything settled with my phone and internet by Saturday. Fingers crossed Send your video text message. If you downloaded Tik Tok just for this assignment ... you don't have to keep it.
SO here we go:
- AR testing is available at home. See above for access. If you have siblings at home make sure you log out after you have finished taking your test. You should be able to test at around the 50% mark by now if you have been keeping up with your AR reading as assigned. So get testing before you forget what you have read.
- The assignments for the rest of this week will be journal/DLS and academic vocabulary. We will resume our regular activities next week.
