Demonstrative Pronouns
Demonstrative pronouns are pointers. They point out a specific person, place or thing.
There are four demonstrative pronouns
Singular Plural
this, that these, those
Write each sentence and underline the demonstrative pronoun, circle the antecedent, draw an arrow from the pronoun to its antecedent. if there is no antecedent write "none" at the end of the sentence.
1. Those are the most expensive diamonds in the store.
2. Of all the Scholastic Book Fair books, these are the best.
3. This is the iPad I hope to get for Christmas.
4. That seems to be the shortest route to town.
5. Before leaving for the university, my brother gave me his jersey and baseball bat. Those had always been his favorite.
6. This has been the happiest day of my life.
