PRONOUN: A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun or group of words acting as a noun.
ANTECEDENT: An antecedent is the noun (or group of words acting as a noun) for which a pronoun stands.
PERSONAL PRONOUNS refer to (1) the person speaking, (2) the person spoken to, (3) the person, place, thing, idea spoken about.
Personal Pronouns are either singular or plural. Depending on whom or what they refer to, they are called first person, second person, and third person pronouns. Study the following chart. You will be expected to know them.
